Hi,

I’m new and I’m still unsure if I’m in the right place.. I’m married, a few days ago I attended a conference at work it was around safeguarding and the mother involved was attending Domestic violence course. She flippantly said one of the other women on the course asked her to go for a drink which she declined then the women said ‘are you going back to your dominator’.
Since then I’ve been questioning my own relationship.

I took an online quiz (ridiculous I know)which said the answers I gave indicated an abusive relationship. I just want to put on here some of the things he does to see what you think as I don’t want to discuss it with anyone I know just yet.

He hates me seeing my friends (not that I have many left because it’s just not worth the hassle) he becomes very jealous if I text friends or family, calls most of my friends ‘s**gs’ there is no rational behind this. If I get close to work colleagues he’ll repeatedly tell me there not my friends only work colleagues (even after years) I lie sometimes when I see my friends for a quick coffee I say I’m at meetings…
In everything I do he puts me down even when I got a promotion he wasn’t nice about it, he’ says its just a joke but I don’t like it, he calls me fat and that’s a joke I don’t like that either. A few years ago I suffered with severe anxiety/depression i was a mess, he was horrible to me, he didn’t support me when things got difficult at work he made me feel a failure. Over the years I’ve said its over on a few occasions he tells me no one will ever want me I’m damaged goods..,I believe him. It’s difficult to express and get across what it’s like but I hope it’s coming across accurately. All advice comments is much appreciated, thanks
