Twisted Sister

Sounds great for you Inneed. do you have other families around that you mix with? Yes, its hard the isolation in Refuge.

Its incredibly hard for children being holed up in one room, but refuge normally has a garden/children’s space and children’s workers to support the children as well, like you say.

Its very limbo-land! living between living in abuse and being on your way to your own life away from it, and it teaches you loads about just looking out for yourself & children, whilst having very experienced emotional & practical support from workers.

its supposed to be a safe place for you, but lots of women also come with issues of drugs and alchohol abuse, and some allow alchohol use, but not abuse! and some women go a bit wild with the new found freedom and i have found some of the incidents very distressing, but it does get you away from your abuser, and time to talk through and space to be left alone too.
