      Hi guys,

I thought I’d drop a quick message because I feel like I’m going mad! Reported someone for domestic violence/assault back in (detail removed by moderator) and I’ve not had a lot of support from the police in regards to communication. I’ve literally been pestering them for updates and got nowhere. The person in question was arrested in (detail removed by moderator) and I didn’t hear anything after that. It’s been an awful experience. Then the OIC went on sick and I didn’t know who to talk to. Luckily he’s back now and things are finally moving! The police are writing up their evidence etc and it’s going to the CPS. But what I’m wanting to know, is if anyone else has had this problem with the whole waiting thing before? How long does it take for the CPS to make a decision? I’m really hoping it goes in my favour. Fingers crossed!

      Xx

Fingers crossed for you here too. Really hope you hear soon.

Is he prevented from being near you in the meantime?

      Hope it goes your way

      Warmest wishes ts

I hope so too! The police haven’t been that great so I’ve been walking on eggshells for months. Yeah he’s been told to stay away from me and I’ve also relocated so he doesn’t know where I live!

Thank you so much, fingers crossed!

      X

Victim Support are a great organisation. They have a helpline and local branches. They can support you through this and tell you about criminal injuries compensation. The system takes ages. You have a right to be kept updated although sadly in my experience it’s whoever shouts the loudest. If you’re not happy then speak to a sergeant or inspector. Well done for reporting. That takes courage and even if there is not enough evidence he’s on record in case another woman is abused, or already has been. It’s not his word against mine if brave women like you speak up. There’s also Claire’s law. You can ask if he has previously been reported. Speak to the police if you want to find out. Good luck x

Hi Feather, just a heads up about going anonymous on the voters roll. It’s the easiest way to find you so please let the electoral office know you don’t wish to show up on the electoral roll. You can still vote but your name won’t be available to the public x

Ah, thank you so much for your advice Kip! I didn’t think about the voters roll either so thank you for thinking of that. I’ll ring them tomorrow 🙂 x
