      Hi PinkCC,

Welcome to the forum. I’m sorry that what you wrote didn’t post. For safety reasons, the Survivors’ Forum logs users off after 15 minutes of inactivity. Unfortunately, it doesn’t register typing in the post editor as activity. It can be helpful to copy what you’ve written before clicking the submit button, that way, if you have been logged out, you can log back in, paste the text into the post editor, and click submit and it will post. I know it may feel frustrating and downheartening to have opened up and then lost the post but I would really encourage you to try again, if you can, so that you can get the support you deserve.

I hope you find the forum a safe and supportive place to be with others who understand.

If you need any guidance on using the forum you can find this in the Forum Guidelines and FAQs. If they don’t answer your question then please feel free to message me.

If you feel like you are in need of some additional support, you could chat to a Women’s Aid worker in confidence via our Live Chat service. They won’t tell you what to do, but can discuss your situation and signpost you to other support that’s relevant for you.

Do keep posting to let us know how you’re getting on.

      Best wishes,

      Lisa

Hi pink. I’ve been caught by that too. I didn’t have the heart to retype it right then I felt too defeated.

Now, if it’s going to be a long one I write in a note app, copy/paste across to here, then delete the note.

Hope you’re OK I’ve felt that frustration x

this has happened to me too. I never had the heart to re type it either.

for people who had their voices silenced for so many years it’s a shock to find it happening here.

many forums have a ‘save as draft’ facility, but not this one for some reason.

Never knowing when you’re going to be cut off is also horrible and makes a big difference to how people post.

it’s not possible to reflect on things or really follow a train of thought.

Today is the first time I knew it was 15 minutes until I would be deleted, so never knowing when it would happen in the past was rotten too. Maybe a clock in the corner counting down or even just a notification to tell people when it’s going to happen would be the minimum of consideration.

Or a warning that you’re just about to be silenced would be useful. 5 minutes, 1 minute and 30 secs.

I think almost everyone has had this happen to them on this site. Sorry it’s happened to you too.
