Sometimes looking back all the abuses and mistreatments can be awful and painful, especially when you’re on your own at night. There are times we blame ourselves for what had happened or feel unfair. But you know what, accept that you’re going to blame yourself from time to time, accept that you’ll feel sad and painful sometimes, and accept what have happened, since all these contribute the current you, and those struggles and pain will make you stronger, I’m sure! I’m a victim of abuse and sexual assault, but that’s why I’m now very empathetic and passionate towards gender equality issues and would like to work on it. Everyone, find your place, make peace with your broken peace, trust yourself, you’ll all be good!

      THIS!!!

      Absolutely agree 100% with this!!

For me, it was also accepting:

      My healing journey is unique.

      My truth.

That I cannot help or change the abuser.

That I am a worthy person who deserves to be treated with respect.

That none if this was my fault or deserved.

That abusers have a choice; nothing and no one ‘makes’ them do it.

That love is not ‘unconditional’.  From now on for me it is conditional on being treated with respect.

I am sure there are others survivors can add to the list 🙂

For me, although those memories are still daunting, I’m very glad that I have the capacity and ability to empower ppl who are suffering due to my own experiences. After all, remembering your own worth is important. Love yourself, accept yourself. And you know what, no matter how worse it has gone, as long as you are willing to start anew, there’ll be sth to learn and you’ll certainly become a better person, and that’s the wonder of life. Girls/women, go, write your own fate, leave your fears behind, and remember to seek support, either from this forum or ppl who’re supportive.
