Is it wrong that I feel to blame for being in this situation.

bless your heart. if you are someone who has always felt guilty & responsible for anything that has ever gone wrong in your life then you could quite easily think you were to blame – even though it isnt true. and all i can tell you is that yes many women (myself included) felt we were to blame. but eventually realizing (with help &/or by reading about abusive relationships) that this thought was only due to all the manipulation & gaslighting that went on.  at the time we are almost brainwashed into believing we were 100% responsible for all the abuse

if you ever feel strong enough to contact the live chat on this site or your local da service please do – just to talk.  because they really did help me see the truth x

      Hi Mysticunicorn20,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your post. I hope you find the forum a safe and supportive place to be with others who understand.

If you feel like you are in need of some additional support, you could chat to a Women’s Aid worker in confidence via our Live Chat service (open every day) as Minimeerkat has suggested. They won’t tell you what to do, but can discuss your situation and signpost you to other support that’s relevant for you. You can access the chat service here.

Do keep posting to let us know how you’re getting on.

      Best wishes,
