      Hi everyone,

I was advised by my support worker to contact my child’s school, because some of the abuse has been ducted at the children this year.

Has anyone else on here done this? How did you contact them, by email?
Because of covid, I’m not sure they will want me to come in and speak in person.

** directed, not ducted (apologies for typo above)

      Hi Pea2020,

Could you call them as a starting point just to ask them? You could ask them if they’d prefer for you to come in, or whether they have a secure email address you can contact them on,

      Take care,

      Lisa

I found it easier to speak to someone at school. Please don’t worry about it. Remember, this isn’t your fault. You’re seeking support. I found the school incredibly supportive.

I cant believe I’m in a situation where I’m having to let the school know of abuse in the house.
I know I need to do it.

Thanks for the advice @lisa and @maddog , I will try and phone the school and ask to go in for a quick meeting, if possible

They should be very supportive and reassure you that they’re used to it! It’s really important information for them to keep, and they can be part of your support network.

I spoke to school, they were really kind, really helpful and supportive. I felt a bit vulnerable opening up to them but I’m glad I did, this was during the first lockdown so I spoke to them in person at a distance. I hope you get the support you need.

I spoke to the school today. They were really supportive.

I feel so guilty because he is so involved with the school, but I think it’s important that I follow the advice of my support worker, because I clearly can’t see the wood from the trees at the moment.
