Abusers always impose their thoughts to us and then say that other ppl are only speaking from their perspectives except them, they always say “I’m the only one who thinks from your perspectives and really wants you to be happy.” But then, they keep telling me to do Sth that I have told them clearly that I don’t feel happy with. I know they’re sad that I wanna stay aboard and I should be compassionate to them but I really feel like I’m emotionally blackmailed when they keep denying my choices and want me to live the life they expect, including what type of job I’m getting and where do I decide to live in. Bc now I’m not fitting to the image they expect, they keep saying that I’m not listening to them and despising my own decisions and what I am doing. I’m feeling really drained, I really wanna be independent asap so I can escape such environment.

Oh Karisqq I want to say that I’m so so sorry you are going through this. My abuser would say “I’m doing this because I love you” , “Your family and friends don’t care for you, but I do” and ” If you didn’t keep making me angry by doing x,y and z I wouldn’t be like this”. It’s so hard isn’t it? I need you to know that what you are describing is abuse and no, as much as we love them, none of what they say is truth. This website has places where you can live temporarily, refuges and help. Your abuse is not your fault and it is not “for your own good”. Feel free to message me. I have been in a similar situation.

I pray you get out soon or recover soon
