  A “jokey” exchange when he debates if it would be cheaper to let me die than pay for my prescription charges for essential medication.

  Insults are often disguised as jokes but they’re designed to erode our confidence and self esteem and it works x I used to get ‘you’re too sensitive’ or ‘it was just a joke’.

  “It was just a joke “ is common reaction from these type of men. Heard it from multiple men and form of manipulation.

  I am forever told “I am just joking” or telling the kids “look your mum is no fun” when I don’t laugh at the jokes at my expense.

  Yeah, the ‘Joking’ is their way of trying to normalise unacceptable behaviour and make you feel like your the one being too sensitive. But your not, this is a horrible thing to say to someone, take care xx
