      Hi All,
I’m new, please be kind, I don’t really know where to start.
I’m (detail removed by Moderator) at today’s date, and half my life has been fighting a monster.
Aged (detail removed by Moderator), I had my own house, a small child, and a career in (detail removed by Moderator).
At (detail removed by Moderator), I met a (detail removed by Moderator), (detail removed by Moderator). I presumed I was safe.
Well no, not quite, it took (detail removed by Moderator) months for him to start his tactics.
And for the next (detail removed by Moderator) years my ‘normal head strong life’ dissolved right in front of my eyes.
I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere without him, I was accused and ‘punished’ for trying to do anything without his consent.
All I can describe my life as at that time as I had the longest list in history of things I couldn’t do, n the shortest list in history of things I could do.
I got punished for how his head was on that day – 3/4 of time. The other 1/4 I was locked in the house so He knew where I was.
      Really?? W*F ??
So I went into a WA refuge, well a couple, I was free. Well yes, I was, but our child wasn’t.
He was Father. But we were re-housed.
Anyway sorry for the long story, (detail removed by Moderator) years later, my child is living life super, Ex is safely away in prison, bonus. And I’ve worked back in (detail removed by Moderator) for (detail removed by Moderator) years. Quite successfully all considered.
However, I’m now under MH because of all the triggers this guy still has instilled in my day to day thinking.
      And my life.
We survived, but sometimes it really doesn’t feel like that.
In my head I still have to fight. Why?

Abuse takes its toll even when we leave and safe the effects linger.they have for me .I believe the effects will always be there but it’s how I handle it in my day to day life that matters.for me my determination to not allow his actions beat me is what drives me
