(detail removed by moderator) but he would ask me something and whenever I answer he straight away would tell me to shut up, but he made it look like a joke. To me it wasn’t a joke. He was very sarcastic all of our way back home too. Then at home when I went to sleep with our child something happened that I wasn’t aware of and he got angry at me, it wasn’t even in my control, but in his head he made it as if I did it on purpose. When this happened I was asleep!! (detail removed by moderator) I did. He’s been asleep since, but for some reason I have a bad feeling. I know he will be in one of his nasty moods again, but I did email Women’s Aid and hopefully I can get a safety plan sorted asap.
I am so so tired of everything, feel like I don’t want to do anything.
I just want to feel safe for once again.

      Hello Blueberryfield,

This sounds like very psychologically manipulative behaviour. Sadly it’s really common for abusers to minimise verbal abuse by dismissing it as a joke, and it sounds like he is gaslighting you by blaming you for something that happened whilst you were asleep.

I hope you were able to make contact for some support today, a safety plan sounds like a good idea.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
