Today I put fairy lights on a tree in my garden. I can see them glowing in the dark. There was no drama, no guilt and no disappointment as the aftermath. Just me and my kid(grown up) laughing, chatting and drinking wine in the garden. Pure bliss.
What a difference, and it’s a shame I can’t share it with the guy I loved but he turned out to be my enemy. His loss…

Good for you fudgecake! What a wonderful experience. Cherish it for what it is. Yesterday I took the kids to a birthday party at someone’s house. I was riddled with anxiety but this went away as I sat and talked with the mums about just normal stuff. I felt in that moment that I was free of the his memories and I felt safe. It was only a couple of hours but god it felt good. Xx

That’s lovely Fudgecake and Faraway, This is my first summer saying yes to invites.
Me and my children have been going out, having fun, coming home when we want to. Connecting and reconnecting. Actually it is a bit exhausting but we are free, and we are also free to just lounge around all day in our PJs if we want to !

Great positive post. Trouble is if you shared the delight with your ex, chances are he would ruin your moment. So you enjoy your moment. It’s a great feeling x

      Thanks all for replies 😊
It’s good to hear that others are taking step steps to go out and socialise and feel the hard won freedom that was taken from us. It’s hard to take those first steps but each step we take gets a little easier. We will get there ladies 👍🍀 x

      I LOVE fairy lights!

The “pure bliss” moments are my favourites. When that happens I raise my glass to the person who put me through hell and say “f*ck you!” 🙂

Thank you Fudgecake for sharing your beautiful evening with us, I can imagine it so clearly, the peace, calm and joy. Ah bliss!! May there be many more such evenings with the beautiful fairy lights 😌
I love candles and light one up every evening to give the nice twilight atmosphere.

Janedoeissad I had to giggle when reading your toast with the wine glass. I imagined you doing that lol. I’ll try that next time it’s a sunny evening!

HopeLifeJoy thank you for your kind message and I hope we all experience such evenings in the future with those we care about. Candles are beautiful to look at and do give a room a comfy atmosphere.

Candles and fairy lights – lovely 🙂

      Hi imsosad,

My fairy lights have really been uplifting and I’ve enjoyed them everyday so far. I definitely recommend getting some as they’re very therapeutic to look at. Don’t forget to raise a glass and make a toast! 😉
