Hi night owl and welcome. The effects are so awful and long lasting aren’t they? I have been out of the abusive relationship for over (detail removed by Moderator) but am still dealing with the aftermath, the anxiety and PTSD, going through counselling. Do you think you will be able to access some specialist support now? I’m finding it a huge help. PP xx

Im new too ! Ive had a difficult day as my ex left a present on my doorstep and has been sitting outside the house in his car and trying to get me to talk to him. Its upsetting and scary.

Hi NO
Like you I kept everything well hidden in my head and as I start to come out of the relationship the flashbacks came, it was like all the lock boxes in the head open to be put in order. It is now a while on and I don’t get them very much now. Sadly because I am still at the same address till the house sales I can’t have PTSD treatment, I have been waiting a very long time for rape counselling too, sadly they have had cut backs in funding….
My Woman’s Aid support worker was great help, and if you can get to Freedom meetings you will benefit from that as well.

Hi want2change, welcome to the forum. If you feel threatened by your Ex call the Police to remove him, you should not feel afraid in your own home xx
