For now the hostility towards me has quieted. Unfortunately for the neighbor it means my husband is unleashing his rage on him. What I’ve noticed is that my husband is lying about things that are stupid (detail removed by moderator). But this lie made it ok for him to verbally assault our neighbor and then blame the neighbor.

      (detail removed by moderator)

I cant trust he wont be hostile towards me and now I can’t trust the words out of his mouth.

Google Gaslighting. It’s crazy making behaviour. They invent things to rage about.

No you’re right not to trust any words of his. Only trust his actions. His need to rage at others. His choice to rage at you and your neigbhour. You could call the police collectively to tell him to stop.
