I decided, to pick me up and spur me on to fight against the dark cloud hanging over me, that I would buy something nice when I feel better. Something to aim towards, as it were.

I picked a beautiful long wool coat and was really looking forwards to treating myself.

Only, I suddenly remembered that it is just like a (detail removed by moderator) he bought me to stop me calling the police.

I now have to find something else. What if I can’t find anything that doesn’t bring back memories of him?

I hope that you have a nice time.

I bought back all of my music that he threw away, then discovered I wanted to listen to new music.

Start small. Get yourself a body creme or a perfume that has a new scent you’ve never used before. When you wear that perfume you can associate it with freedom.
