Not sure how many people would view this as a positive moment, but it’s pretty huge for me. Today I found out I have been accepted into a 2 year psychotherapy group! It’s to help rebuild sense of self and self worth. It won’t start until later in the year, but I am so chuffed. I am so grateful to live in an area where mental health is taken seriously.

That’s fantastic, and two years is great. I had six appointments which wasn’t nearly enough. That gives you a good timescale as all sorts of mental health problems show themselves sometimes long after the final episode. Group therapy is also a great idea as peer support can be a huge help long after the support group ends. Something to look forward to. I can recommend a good book. Mind Over Mood. It will keep you busy and get you thinking before the group starts. Sometime it’s a struggle to even ask for help so well done👏. I hope you will share any good advice you get x

Thanks KIP, I will look that book up. Long term therapy is pretty rare, the usual 6 sessions was more damaging than helpful.
