Hi I’m new. Still coming to terms with what is going on is not about me being a bad wife. I spoke to women’s aid last week got offered a place straight away and then I fell (detail removed by moderator) Never felt so vulnerable. He’s taken 4 days off to supposedly look after me. He did for 2 days then I just carried on the same. I even made dinner in pain and he didn’t eat it!  Am I stupid or is this normal?  From the stories I’ve looked at it feels like they all have a handbook!

      Hi Lulublade,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum. I’m sorry to hear about your situation. It must be frightening to feel so vulnerable when you are wanting to leave. Its not normal for your partner to treat you in this way- you deserve to feel supported and safe.

You mentioned that you were offered a place- do get in touch with your local domestic abuse service if you are able to. They should be able to offer you that ongoing support and help with a safe plan to leave.

      Best Wishes

      Lisa
