So I rang 101 to speak to a DV officer re my case and the controller said they would put it in the diary and someone would contact me by phone (they took my mobile number) to arrange an appointment. Not long afterwards, I’m in my garden and two policemen come round the back. I’m shocked and triggered and I scream. After I calm down, and ask what they’re doing here, they say I rang them to report a crime! No, I didn’t. I gave them a brief description of my problem (stupid mistake) and PC Dumb starts bumping his gums when PC Dumber cuts in with as he puts it, an analogy ‘if I went to a domestic violence case and she said she got punched and kicked, that’s one crime’! How stupid does he think I am and can you imagine using an analogy like that on a victims of DV! The thing is when I reported the big crime, during my statement I told them about the smaller crime and they didn’t investigate. And it’s two completely separate things like sexual and financial. I’m just finding this out now. It’s been quite a long time. So I need to go back to the original officer. I think I’ve seen four. I rang the control room to complain and she asked me if I told them I didn’t want uniform officers coming out. Why would I randomly blurt that out when they said they would phone me. I had problems before when the controller asked if I wanted an officer to come out, I said yes. When they arrived they mentioned me wasting police time! They asked me if I wanted an officer to come out! Turns out there is mis communication between controllers and officers. And it’s obviously still going on!
