Ive always been the main earner in our household, working full time and am currently off sick. Just trying to work out how life will look. I have decided I need to reduce my hours to make childcare work. I was planning on staying in the family home, but my landlord has just anounced a massive rent increase that I dont think I can afford, so will probably need to move. Already on the social housing list as a couple prior to leaving and told 2-3 year wait for that. I just cant get my head around how things will work at the moment.

      Hi Bluebean24,

Thank you for your post. I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Its understandable this feels overwhelming for you- you are having to navigate a lot of changes on top of being a single parent and the added pressure that can bring.

You mentioned the need to go part time and that you are on a social housing list- you may want to reach out to Shelter who are able to advise around housing law- they may know of other options for you. https://england.shelter.org.uk/

Keep reaching out when you can

      Best Wishes

      Lisa
