I’m on holiday in one of the countries just put under quarantine.

Lockdown was extreme for me and I realised how abusive my relationship was. Always verbal but physically had started.

The thought of being locked in the house for 2 weeks fills me with fear and dread. My husband would ordinarily volunteer a few days a week which gives me a bit of space.

I’ve also got the solicitor calling to give me advice and I won’t be able to get any privacy.

I feel utterly desperate about what I’m about to face.

      Hi PaleBlueStar,

I’m really sorry to hear you’re going through this. Keep in mind that the government made it clear at the start of lockdown that you are allowed to leave/ get help if you’re living with abuse; you can read more about this here.

If you can keep the situation calm enough could you rearrange the solicitor call for when you know he’ll be out?/ after the 2 weeks is up? Please don’t stop trying to get help; it’s so great that you’ve been in touch with a solicitor.

It’s completely understandable why you’d be feeling so anxious though. Please do call the police if anything escalates; you could also contact your local domestic abuse service if you’re needing any support or advocacy with the police.

Please keep posting, and keep reaching out for support,

      Lisa
