My husband I have just discovered has being seeing trafficked (nationality removed by Moderator) sex workers for years and years tracing my land line calls since (year removed by Moderator). He won’t talk about it and left me to piece together the hard evidence. He worked as a (profession removed by Moderator) all his life and is (age removed by Moderator). I found a hidden box of Viagra when I was helping him look for his old (object removed by Moderator). Then I got the landline calls from BT going back (number removed by Moderator) years. He even used the prostitutes during Covid. I do not know how to deal with it as he won’t talk. (timeframe removed by Moderator) I was trying to sort out my savings and had put thousands into his name to protect it against the banks going bust. He said nothing and I feel so shocked. I trusted him.

      Hi NefertitiGreat21,

This really must have been a huge shock to you. Lying and cheating often goes along with other abusive behaviour, I hope that sharing support here with other women will help you to make sense of this. Men who are comfortable seeing vulnerable trafficked sex workers are likely to have misogynistic values and enjoy a sense of power over women, which are key underlying attitudes of perpetrators of domestic abuse.

I’m sorry that the police made you feel stupid. You deserve to be taken seriously always when reporting crimes.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
