Storage

Near me there isn’t any storage units that I could store things in that wouldn’t get cold and damp, we only have large expensive containers close by, the items I want to take will be ruined in there.

I’ve asked family, well begged them really but it’s been made clear we have no space! That’s bugging me as there is space and it’s clear how desperate I am but I have to respect it’s not my home.

There are some items I don’t want to leave, and these are used to control me sometimes, I’m not allowed access to them etc. Some of them are hobby items that I feel are important to me to continue And find me again, I could re purchase somehow but I still have the storage

Any suggestions? Maybe some kind of secure garden shed? Although I think my items would be ruined due to damp and cold still?

Your local council should be able to help you with storage if you’re fleeing domestic violence. I’d recommend contacting your local domestic abuse service for more information around this and some advocacy with the council.

You could also speak to Shelterline who are housing law specialists and should also be able to give you some information around this.
