Left abusive ex a few years ago.  Reported his abuse to police (timeframe removed by Moderator).  Was in therapy but it’s ended and the nhs won’t offer more support despite ongoing police case and the huge stress I’m under.  I’m on a waiting list for counselling but it’s a long wait, also waiting for an ISVA.  Feeling like what I need is trauma focused therapy but finding it is so hard.  I’m on a low income and can’t afford to pay.

I’m so tired of referring myself to places only to be signposted elsewhere.

      Hello MsOptimistic,

Thank you for sharing this, it sounds like a really difficult time feeling left without support whilst waiting for counselling. Are you aware of any charities in your area that offer free or low cost counselling? It could be worth Googling if you’ve not done so already.

It’s good to hear that there is something in the pipeline, but we really understand that it’s not helpful to have to wait. I hope you hear from them soon.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
