Im new here and honestly dont know where to start. I left my abusive relationship of (timeframe removed by Moderator) years (timeframe removed by Moderator) years ago.  During the (timeframe removed by Moderator) years i subjected to horrible mental abuse and physical violence often. Since leaving i have got to know myself again and met the most amazing partner who i am very grateful for. I am now safe and loved and have everything i have ever wanted however i cant move forward, one day im mySelf bubbly excited for the future the next day i feel as scared as i was (timeframe removed by Moderator) years ago. I have been having bad nightmares and replaying past traumatic events that have happen. My ex husband still wont engage properly legally around childcare or divorce and my relationship with his family has broken down. Every few days there is drama from them which brings me down.

I just feel so helpless sometimes that i cant forget what has happened in the past. I have tried counselling and recently journing.

My new partner is supportive but recently hes been upset that i dont always open up about how i feel but i dont want to be a burden.

      I feel abit lost.

Hi there! If there’s a new drama every few days then I’m not surprised that you can’t move on!
How could you possibly be expected to, when they’re still toying with your emotions non-stop?

Your challenge is just how you can stop that happening. Do you have any strategies at the moment that you’re using to downplay this chaos?

There are co-parenting apps that you can get now. My friend is using one. I can ask her about it if you like?  In this way you literally sort out all the childcare arrangements through the app, no need to have contact.
