My local council refused to help me when I fled. They did not care that I was about to become homeless and supported the abuser who almost killed me.

I’m so sorry you went through that – on top of the abuse itself. I can’t help starting to feel angry about the way some councils seem to enable abusers. I’m feeling that’s how my council is, enabling and helping him abuse. I haven’t left yet because I don’t want to be homeless. Your council sounds awful. I wonder if we have the same one!
