      Hi!

I’m new here. I’m guessing y’all hear this a lot, but I don’t know if I am the survivor or the primary aggressor. I live in a rural area without much access to community resources.

What types of professionals are best able to help me figure out my role in domestic abuse? Advocates, counselors, therapists, something else? And does anyone have advice for screening professionals to make sure they are suitable?

      Thanks!

Hi there. For me no one was better than women’s aid. Try to find support from your local branch or ring the national domestic abuse helpline. Living with the Dominator is a good book to read by Pat Craven. Counselling was also good but you need to find someone that is experienced with domestic abuse x
