So I know he is abusive. Constantly belittling me, our oldest child. Just recently I started study and took up volunteering job in profession and know he says that its wrong, worthless and they just feed dripping me woke and propaganda.

While ago police were involved and now he tries to do all his abuse while kids are out.

But can I actually ask for help to someone? Cause obviously nor me nor kids are in Physical danger never have been. It’s always been verbal and most of the times just towards me (recently started in eldest because he is teenager). I am on housing list, but at the moment not getting closer than 30th on bids.

So my question is – who I could actually ask for help? Cause I know if kids are in danger then there are places, but kids are fine. It’s me who suffers and my mental health.

And since I’ve been on housing list for a while I do not wanna move to different city, cause to get this far took lots of my energy.

Sorry its all jumble in my post, I just trying to understand is there services who could help me to get higher on my housing list due the constant verbal and emotional abuse.

      Thanks.

      Hi wintersnow,

Abuse doesn’t have to be physical to be serious and damaging. You deserve to have support. You could reach out to your local domestic abuse service. Local domestic abuse services differ by area, but most will have advocates who should be able to help with speaking to housing to make sure that your rights are being respected. There are rules around domestic abuse that mean you should be classed as homeless due to your current home being unsafe because of the abuse. This includes harm being caused by verbal and emotional abuse.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
