I keep coming back to thinking have I got it wrong. I keep having to remind myself what he’s done. But is it my fault. Did I cause it all.

I just go round and round over and over.
How do I really make sense of this. Where does the line fall between the kids behaviour being down to him or down to them.
How long till I see them again. Are they going to be ok?

Because we are normal people with a conscience. We aren’t arrogant and we have the ability to be self- critical and self- reflective.

Our abusers are none of the above.

Don’t take on any responsibility for things he did or failed to do.

Re your kids: be true to yourself, be who you really are, play the long game. Your kids will return.
