      Hi everyone,

My whole experience leaving my abusive partner keeps making me realise how many super awesome fantastic women there are in the world! It has been women that helped me initially on the helpline, women that helped me at my local women’s charity, women who support me in my support group, women who helped me on a domestic abuse course, women therapists who are offering me specialist support, a woman who is helping me to get back into work, female dr’s who helped me with the medical side of things, my female friends who have supported me throughout, and all you awesome ladies on here who make me feel understood and validated!

There is still so much negativity and misogyny in today’s society, it’s clearly noticeable in our language the way men say things like ‘you’re such a girl/ he runs like a girl/ wimmin/ spinster (where they get to be called bachelor) etc and it just gets normalised and accepted. I really want to start contributing to help the world realise how awesome women are and to break down all the misogyny and negativity towards 50% of the population.

So to start with I wanted to write a post pointing out how amazingly fabulous, awesome and incredibly strong, brave, intelligent and wise women are, and I hope you all realise it! 😀

      Hello Sunshinerainflower,

Thank you for this post. There are indeed many strong and fantastic women in the world and on this forum!
It is great to see how you all support each other and how you guide each other through your individual journeys.

It is good to focus on more positive things sometimes.

      Best Wishes,
      Lisa

Totally agree! I have so much more in common with women too which makes for more meaningful conversation and more fun things to do together. Don’t get me wrong – there ARE good men out there but it is true women who have been consistent for me.
