Good evening, I am new here and I am looking for someone that went through the similar thing. I feel very lost, I got divorced from my abusive ex husband after (timeframe removed by moderator) of being manipulated, mentally destroyed you name it. I had to agree to 50/50 custody as I was being threatened he would use everything against me to lose my kids. I believed him as I thought I was the bad person after being gaslighted for nearly (timeframe removed by moderator) decades.
(timeframe removed by moderator) on our relationship hasn’t improved. He moved on with new partner and even moved (detail removed by moderator) away from where we always lived moving kids away from school and friends.
After argument with my hormonal (age removed by moderator) year old she now wants to stay with her dad. Argument was silly about a messy room she had numerous arguments with her dad even his partner. But somehow she came back after (timeframe removed by moderator) with him poisoned and cited everything that I ever did wrong in her dad eyes as if I did that to her. Talked about money, me cheating awful things that (age removed by moderator) year old shouldn’t say to mum. I got very upset and she stayed with her dad. He is now turned it that I am the abusive mother she is full of it and now doesn’t want to come back. It’s her birthday (detail removed by moderator) and I am at loss as I won’t see her or for Christmas. We never argue if anything I bend backwards all the time.
Please has anyone got any advise ?

Hi Malia5,
Thank you for your post. I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I can understand this must be really painful for you. It sounds like he has taken advantage of this situation to create this divide and to twist the situation. A lot of abusive men use child contact in this way. Its okay to take a step back if you need to, she may need some time and space but she knows how much you care about her.
The Coram Children’s Legal Centre provide free legal resources with advice and information on all aspects of family, child and education law, including relationship breakdown; parental disputes, duties of children’s services; child protection. They can be contacted on 0300 330 5480 (10am-4pm, Mon-Fri) and through their webchat service (8:30am-5:30pm Mon-Fri).
Best Wishes
Lisa
