ParticipantI left my abuser a number of years ago being finally diagnosed with PTSD last year and starting EMDR (private).
Over Christmas my ex took their life and I feel very confused.
Sad they have died and angry that they hav4 left our child who resided with them.
The control continued ‘re our child after I left.
I feel relief it is finally over but so much to sort out and the PTSD to treat. I have had depression as well and hope now will find space to heal. -

ParticipantHi purplepanda,
I’m glad you have reached out for support on here. Please keep posting about your strong feelings of anger and sadness. These feelings can be overwhemlming but if you post about them and continue with your other supports you will face them and heal from them and not let the feelings control your life and your child’s life.
Its normal to feel angry, sad and confused in your situation. So yes be kind and gentle to yourself and use any support you can get.

ParticipantDear Purple Panda
Just wanted to offer you my condolences too. A relief that finally you have an end to the abuse but also can be so difficult to work through.
Awful shock for you an your child over Christmas.
Do keep posting to help you process, and do you have some support in RL? A counselor or supportive GP?
Warmest wishes ts
