Walked in with the children laughing and talking about our days to find a postcard on the mat addressed to one child from my in-laws. I now feel all anxious unsettled and my stomach is in knots at this piece of card in my home. It’s so silly, why does it affect us so much! They probably posted it before my husband has done his current disappearing act but it just feels so strange and a nice gesture compared to how I know they must feel about me and the addressing it to one child, aarghhhhh. I feel all deflated after a great day.

Triggers like this are awful, can send a person into a real spin – it’s re-living all of the past emotions in an instant again. Try talking yourself down if you haven’t already. Do what you need to do with the card, then breath and step away from it. Youve had a nice day, stay with those thoughts and feelings, put him and his family out x
