I’ve just returned from a lovely relaxing holiday unfortunately my phone died so I got a new one today. I asked the guy in the shop to transfer all the pics and contacts from the old phone only to find a tonne of pics of him and even worse pics of all the bruises he gave me. All over my body and face. I’d deleted them so thought they were gone forever. I hate technology at times. It really knocked me for six. Just brought it all back.

You’re not the same woman in those pictures. Tomorrow will be a better day x good riddance to bad rubbish 🌷It must have given you a fright, it gets easier. Delete them all again as part of your healing. I recently shredded lots of old photos. It felt good. Closure x

Sorry to hear about you being triggered Dragonfly by the photos. Deleting them is a good idea.

KIP did you shred lots of old photos of you and him? What was your criteria for deleting them?

I’d like to reduce the number of photos I have. I still have all the photos of him mainly him with my children.

Marie Kondo says we should only keep photos that ‘spark joy’ when we look at them. Well, then all the ones of him will have to go lol.

KIP can you expand a bit more on your thoughts of getting rid of photos. I’m sure it will help with the healing process.

I immediately deleted them. I’ve not deleted the one’s on my laptop yet. Can’t look at them. It’s also memories of good times and I’m not just talking about him, it’s the places we went, the sights we saw. Feel reluctant to delete memories of beautiful places. I suppose I could always go to those places again. Exorcise him out and create new memories.
