A year or more back I called it.. in under the impression the help line is simply to point you in the direction of help where you live.. but I just need a voice to talk to without being judged

I have rung them for support. In fact I rang them tonight there wasn’t anything they could do to help but they talked through the situation with me and helped at least put my mind at rest.

      Hi Starmoon,

Yes, the 24hr National Domestic Violence Helpline (0808 2000 247) can be a listening service as well as to discuss any options available to you and to signpost to other helpful organisations. If you are not able to get through straight away then there is a voicemail service to request a call back at a safe and convenient time.

If you feel it would help to talk things through with someone who understands then please do call the helpline when you can. The Helpline Workers will not judge you or tell you what to do.

      Best wishes,

      Lisa
