Whilst I was with my Ex I had a default on one of my accounts because honestly, my head was so battered with his emotional torture that I didn’t monitor it as well as I should.

Has anyone ever contacted anyone (I don’t know where to start) to see about getting the default removed or “explained” because of these circumstances?

I used to feel like this default was all my fault but now I see how consumed I was with making sure my Ex was OK and wasn’t about to explode on me. So I feel like the default is a little unjustified. Its not a very recent thing, is there a time limit on how long after the default I have before I can no longer challenge it?

I don’t know if any of you have any answers to these questions but I thought you may be able to suggest a good contact as a starting point?

      Hi Janedoeissad

I just wanted to show you some support. Sorry to hear about what you have been through, I am glad that you are starting to realise that this wasn’t your fault.

A good place to start would be your local CAB, The National Debt Line, or Step Change. I am sure one of these services would be able to give you some advice.

Take care and keep posting to let us know how you get on,

      Lisa
