if the other parent has the kid on a week that starts off on a bank holiday would you hand over with uniform, so they have the clothes that week, or in normal clothes because its unfair on children to wear school clothes on a non school uniform day?

I wouldn’t get into it, I’d record what happened in my diary and just sort the child out once in my care xx

I agree Fizzylem, just make a note of what happened and then provide your child with the appropriate clothing.

I would do the same. i.e. record.
Just be aware of the mother-blaming mentality, I would say.
They may try to blame you for just about everything.

It was a bank holiday, so I dressed the kids in normal clothes… he then knocked on the door expecting uniform.. I ignored it of course. I mean, surely on their week they should be responsible enough to get their own… as I a responsible parent but now, because I stood up for myself they are going to be dressed in their ‘normal clothes’ on next Monday. Its childish the way they carry on, but I am just making sure I am doing whats right, because usually I would be apologising and changing the kids halfway through the day.. for the sake of no comebacks

      TWo things…
As a ‘responsible’ parent (note the inverted commas) they should inform themselves when bank holiday (and the school term is) – as you do yourself…

Secondly, I feel you are right. Yes, they should have replacement uniform (just in case)

I have been in this situation and I went to the school showed the head the text messages and how they were also aggressive with him stating he would send them to school in clothes. I took uniform in just in case and the headteacher was amazing and supportive.
so many head games and it’s not fair on the children. if they could home in uniform they know to just get changed.

you are amazing and it is ridiculous what can happen, hold you head high and remember you can only do you best xx
