      Yes I believe they do. They are like junkies always looking for a fix. It makes them feel good to abuse and put others down. If they don’t have a current partner you can bet they’re still abusing past partners unless they’ve been blocked or had the police involved. That’s why it’s so hard to get rid of them, even after separation you still get abusive texts and verbal abuse. They just can’t help Themselves. That’s why absolutely zero contact is the only way to deal with an abuser. You can bet eventually even their own children become targets of their vile abuse and manipulation. Good riddance to bad rubbish x

      thats why you have to show him he wont bring you down. dont give him what he wants. the days will pass and you will get stronger you might not feel it right now but you will. life changes all the time and good things will come to you. all they know is misery.
