I know I can’t give too many details but idk how to leave. I still go back and forth between whether he’s abusive or if the relationship is just a mess and can be fixed.

We had a tough fight recently and it just made me think how I can’t do this anymore but I’m on a spouse visa. I don’t work and have none of my own money. We’ve got kids and everything including the house is in his name. Idk what my options are or where to even begin. I just know I can’t do this anymore. I keep thinking being dead would be easier than feeling how I feel. I already struggle with PTSD and it’s just too hard.

Hello love I’m very sorry your in this position what you can do is contact your local domestic abuse service and they can direct you also your health visitor is quite good at these things depending on children Ages.I’m sorry you want to take your life it could be good to speak to your g.p further or Samaritans.you must speak out about abuse so you get a limited leave to remain.also you could get advice from cab but be careful your abuser does not find out also contact local council to move out I will pray for you

      Hi Selflove3,

You may have options around your immigration status if here on a spousal visa and your marriage breaks down due to domestic abuse so it’s important to access proper immigration advice if you can.

Rights of Women are an organisation staffed by women lawyers who specialise in areas of law often needed in relation to abuse, including immigration law. You can contact their Immigration and Asylum Law Line on 020 7490 7689 (Mondays and Thursdays, 10am – 12pm and 2pm – 4pm).

As Mellow had mentioned, you can also get immigration advice from Citizens Advice (0800 144 8848) and there are some other options for organisations offering immigration support in our “Signposting and Support” section.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
