Hello, I have a NMO on my ex partner this is due to end and I will apply for this to be extended but unsure if it will be extended as it has not been breached. However he has contacted friends and family to warm them to keep away from the children and me and been convicted of other crimes in this time period to. I’m so scared and wondering what to do next as he knows my location. If the NMO is not extended would I be able to go to a refuge? I don’t want to just wait for something serious to happen again. I have tried to call the 24hour advice line but been on hold for over an hour each time and hardly moved position in the que. Thank you.

      Hi Dancingqueen101,

This is such a worrying time for you and you deserve to feel safe and protected. If you have any questions about the NMO, DV Assist is a specialist injunctions service that should be able to answer any questions. As for refuge, if you’re not safe where you’re currently living because of domestic abuse, refuge is an option that should be open to you. The organisations that run refuges are independent from one another, so they will have their own policies and you would need to speak to a refuge directly about your situation for a definite answer. You could use our Live Chat service to speak to a Women’s Aid worker about your options.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
