Go speak with the council without his knowledge if you can. Find out where you actually stand. My council has a domestic abuse team and yours may have something similar.

Failing that is removing him as an occupant and applying for a house swap a possibility in your area?

      Hi Runlikewater,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing. I hope you find the forum a safe and supportive place to be.

You could contact Shelter to discuss your housing rights and options. Shelter offer free and confidential housing information, support and legal advice on all housing and homelessness issues. They have a live chat service, and an emergency helpline available on 0808 800 44 44 (8am-8pm weekdays, 9am-5pm weekends) or via their website.

It may also be beneficial to contact your local domestic abuse service for some ongoing emotional and practical support with what you are experiencing. Your local service can be found here.

Keep posting when you can, there is support here for you.

      Best wishes,
