I did it!

I did it! I left! I thought I was fully prepared mentally for it, I wasn’t, it was SO much tougher than I expected but I’m so glad I took that step!
The last few days have been a rollercoaster but I feel it’s starting to settle down now! Had all the expected drama, him trying to find me, harassing my family, him putting himself in hospital.. but it was all worth it! Some days I’ve felt great, a few I’ve felt terrible, but it’s all part of the process. He has no way of contacting me directly and he doesn’t know where I am, but I did manage to have a civil conversation with him yesterday regarding the house and bills, a glass of wine and some chocolate helped with this! This weekend I’m away with the girls (because I can do this now, I’m my own boss!) and I’ve even booked a holiday for just me. I’m determined to make the most of this new life I’ve made for myself! I know it won’t all be easy, but hopefully the tough days will become fewer and further apart xx

You might find it can take time for all your emotions to settle.
Like you said, keep posting on here for support.
I actually found that leaving was only the beginning of my journey.
I discovered trauma bonding, it made me physically ill to be apart from my abuser.
With support from here, family and friends and educating myself about the cycle of abuse, I managed to break the trauma bond.

The tactics your ex has already displayed are the usual abusive tactics.
You have done well to stand your ground and see his behaviour for what it is, games to try and lure you back.
