We have had a big row and the gaslighting has been terrible. He says he’s leaving (removed by moderator)for a few weeks, but I don’t even know if he’ll be here tomorrow. I’m out all day at work and as much as I’d like him to be gone and for this to be over, I’m scared. The prospect of being alone after him making me so isolated is very scary. Just looking for some words of encouragement.

      Hi,

It is scary but it is so very worth it!

Get in touch with WA or another local DA Charity and get a support worker. They’ll help you to stay strong and give you access to groups and help like the freedom project.

Talk to your GP, they can be amazing support too and help you find counselling.

Ironically, the chances are you’ll feel less lonely on your own, these men can make you feel so lonely and isolated that when you’re free from them you can finally breath again.

And keep posting, we’re all here for you and these women are amazing. I would have been lost without their support.

A huge welcome and big hug to give you strength. X*x

i remember this feeling the final click off the door behind them. you will be surprised how you will cope. off course you will be upset but for me i tried to keep busy especially the first week. i was exhausted to be honest. i went for long walks and made my best effort to reconnect with people id lost touch with. i also met a few new friends along the way. your life is retrievable it dosent feel like it but it is. its no life with an abusive man if you look at it that way. lots of self care for you xxxx sending you hugs and strength also love diymum
