Got my new home, there is nothing inside it bar the walls and flat packed boxes atm – have been sat on a garden chair today looking at the blank spaces and listing the jobs, but inbetween I soaked up the peace and contentment. I felt happy; can honestly say I haven’t felt this feeling for a few years. Been reflecting on that, and think I’ve worked out why that is, it’s because I haven’t felt safe, and because I felt safe today I was truly able to feel happy. Has given me a deeper understanding, that it’s highly likely that not one of us can feel happy if we do not first feel safe x

This makes me so happy to read, and I think you are really on to something. Feeling safe is very closely connected to being able to feel happy. So pleased to read you have found that space, you deserve this. I can just picture the enjoyment you will get making and shaping your safe space into your home 🙂 x

Congratulations Fizzylem, I am so pleased for you! Yay!! Your very own 🏰🤗 💝 well deserved. Ahh and the feeling of peace and safety. How good that must feel. It is such distance memory for me. Enjoy it and hopefully it lasts for ever. I do agree once you feel safe happiness follows. All else falls into place. I hope your daughter is grateful for your efforts and is satisfied and hope she won’t leak the address to your abusive ex.

So happy to read this. Peace isn’t much to ask, but when you live with an abuser it’s the one thing you never find.
