So, I got the house (detail removed by Moderator), he got paid off ( I had to borrow money), but he’s still not off the mortgage as I am not earning enough yet.

Mortgage deal came to an end; I managed to strike a deal whereby I would pay much less each month for now, which would have helped me in my position.

Unfortunately, it needed his go-ahead, and he refused out of spite. Even the mortgage company found it hard to believe that he could put his family in such a dire situation. And throughout all this, he’s paying almost no maintenance.

So, ladies, I wrote off to the CEO of the mortgage company, the big-wig who I heard being interviewed on the radio. I impressed upon her how unfair it all is, how there’s no joined-up thinking between the courts and mortgage companies, how people aren’t protected from abuse.

Result? Maybe! She got someone to phone me, and we are now trying to get my payments at the lower rate, without his agreement. They are using their discretion.

It’s always worth pointing out the abuser’s sick behaviours and fighting for what’s right!

      Fingers crossed!

Excellent work Serenity, what a great idea to write to her. It’s so true about it always been worth asking. I was signed up to a course in the middle of the abuse and the time to finish it was running out. I sent them an honest email about what had been happening and they put me on the next course completely free of charge, it was so helpful and I’m just coming up to finishing it now 🙂

Fingers crossed for you that they will sort it out, we really are much more powerful than these abusers due to our good qualities and if we can access that inner power we can do great things. xx

Well done. See if the legislation can be changed. Ive been onto the Financial Services Authority. No regulation for women whos abusers freeze the joint account then refuse to sign allowing her to remove her name. Even when its in credit. Bank made my life hell. Im working on introducing legislation through my MP. Every one of us can make a difference!

There’s a thing…… it’s called Treating Customers Fairly. All financial institutions must abide by it. Look up FCA website. Glad you challenged it. Was obviously worth it 😊

Spiteful, evil man. He’ll never change – they never do.
Good for you going to the top. I hope it works out with the lower fees – and I hope it really, really irritates him! xxxxx
