      Hi

I got out of an abusive relationship with my kids (timeframe removed by Moderator) (with non-mol etc etc). (legal detail removed by Moderator). My kids have become abusive towards me (which was predicted by psychologists due to the witnessing and normalising of the abuse) and I am deeply triggered by contact with my ex (although it goes through a 3rd party, it’s still too hard). I feel that I just can’t take it any more. Has anyone just walked away? I love my kids more than words and have always been their primary carer but they are being heavily manipulated, bringing abuse home (intimidating, bullying etc) and I don’t have time to deal with it because they are constantly hopping between homes and coming back even worse. I’m really thinking about handing my kids over full time to my ex. This is absolutely not in their best interests but (legal detail removed by Moderator) and I don’t think I can do this anymore. Has anyone done this? Thanks for reading.

I can’t say that I’ve done this hun but I can tell by your words that it is intolerable for you. Would it be safe to give them to him? And if not, is it enough to get the authorities involved? Solicitors child services etc? Maybe having intervention would be better?

I think I’d be tempted to try and get some help.  Giving up your kids would be damaging for you and them in the long term.

Maybe contact the WA helpline. They may be able to point you in the direction of family support.
