New feature in forum

I have only just noticed that there is a new feature on the Reply box, as it now has two separate tabs, one for the text posts, and another to post visuals!

Before doing any pictures, etc, type posting, I wanted to check if anyone knows whether any visuals posted will be stripped of all other data before being posted on the forum please?

I know how much data is attached to pictures and want to be sure that none of this is stored by the site please, if anyone knows?

and a PS…what is the P for at the bottom of the text box?  It seems to select text around the cursor point is all I have discovered so far.

Now that you pointed this out I can see this. I had not noticed. There seems to be link to images and to add links in friendly manner.

I’ve passed your question on to the tech team. For now I would say, as with all posts, avoid sharing anything you’re concerned may be identifying. The option to add an image to a post isn’t new but there was an update to make the post editor as a whole more user friendly and that’s the new feature that you’ve noticed.

Not to worry, I shan’t be posting my personal photo album, and hopefully no-one would either.

Wanted to be sure that it stripped all data is all. I look forward to hearing back.

I’m confused about the process. the ‘img’ function simply requests a url. Does the new process allow you to upload from your own computer browsing?

We’ve rolled back the changes to the post creator for now because we saw it had added a little line of code to some posts, and we’re testing it on our testing site. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible with an update and if anyone has any questions/concerns please let us know!
