Strangely, my nightmares have got worse since I left him. They are horrific. My body is aching so bad today. I was stuck inside a nightmare inside a nightmare for so long and couldn’t manage to wake up out of it all.
I was reading yesterday that you can train yourself to change the nightmare. So that’s helped.
Other than that, I’m not sure what else I can do.
It’s processing your brain is making sense of the things you should never have had to go through. Over time mine have got a lot better then they come back but less and less. But I get it they fling you back.they are so awful. You could speak to your GP if they continue and distress you. Grounding techniques can help when you wake. Breathing exercises. Get up. Light on. Remind yourself you are safe now. Take care I hope they pass for you x
Sorry you are having these type of nightmares. They will pass in time – it does take time but they do go away and you do return in time to normal sleep.
