I think I experience financial abuse and through this forum actually realising that it’s abuse I just thought I had a partner who was very miserable but I put every penny into home And kids he pays the mortgage but earns double my salary and I pay every other household bill for kids stuff and the list goes on. When I leave do I jist cancel all my direct debits to do with the home and call I also ask I know this sounds silly but when you left did u leave a note or anything. I’m so scared but iv never been so close to going. We have taken kids away and he’s just moaned and brought me down the whole time everything is s***e in his eyes and he’s soo tired of it xx

      Hi Better-days,

I’m so glad that the forum was able to help you make sense of the financial side of the abuse you’ve experienced. Surviving Economic Abuse have a lot of helpful information on their website about this particular area of domestic abuse. There’s a guide on separating your finances that has a section on what to do about bills.

      Take care and keep posting,
      Lisa
