I recently posted but it was removed as I included too many details, sorry…
I left my ex about (detail removed by Moderator) months ago, after many years of horrendous physical emotional, sexual and controlling behaviour from him, including him being arrested (detail removed by Moderator) for serious crimes but silly me withdrew the statements due to his pressures… Since then he has been trying to get back with me relentlessly despite being with someone else! He has been making threats towards me more recently and even said he had driven past my house, I don’t know why, I hadn’t seen him in months.
I reported the threats and him driving past my house to the police and they said there is nothing they can do, that I should enquire about a non molestation order.
I have since enquired with NCDV and also the court nav system and both have said this would not be granted as I haven’t been physically hurt by him recently or seen him in person recently, even though he drove past my house and described it as (detail removed by Moderator) because he said he wanted to see me. So that route has been taken away from me.

I then pushed to report the coercive and controlling behaviour and historical things that hadn’t been reported, things like him (detail removed by Moderator) and trying to blame me, locking me in the car, threats etc and the officer came to take a statement (detail removed by Moderator). (detail removed by Moderator). I haven’t heard anything yet, does anyone know when I should hear whether they have gone ahead and arrested him?
The officer also said (detail removed by Moderator) that I will be sent to a Marac meeting on Monday as it has been classed as high risk. What will this entail?

      Hi there

First of all good for you for going ahead and reporting him again for his behaviour. He can’t be seen to be getting away with this, regardless of when it happened. Did the officer tell you anything at the time to whether they were going to interview him? They do usually keep you in the loop with these things. Maybe worth a call to your local station. I have also been referred to Marac as I’m also high risk. In terms of that you don’t have to do anything as all the agencies work out together for what’s best for you and your safety and put everything in motion. You never know they may conclude that a non mol will be the thing that you need.
      Take care xx

I could not report either. I had many incidents where police came over and asked me to report – however I was living with him – it would have led to far more violence and I had no money to move. This is the part I did not like. There was no help from the police – no suggestions that there were places to go – nothing. Not even contact telephone numbers for help. Finally someone actually gave me information separately from the police quite by accident whom I met in society who was in position to help. The help came after I left.

The police did stand up and order him out.

I am not familiar with the terms you placed down on your post. Could you ask what the meeting entails?

MARAC is… more or less a risk assessment. Try googling, “MARAC DASH questions” and you’ll see the guidelines that are used for assessing. Be honest and stay strong xX.
