      Hi Mellow,

It’s really important to tell the people involved in your life about what’s going on. None of this is your fault. Abuse can be really hard to articulate when we first set out on this journey. It can be really subtle. Many of us believe in the mythology. That we’re going to held at knife point, strangled and beaten to a pulp on a regular basis. Of course this happens, but usually it’s the put downs, the silent treatment, the threats, the sexual impropriety.

Your health visitor should be trained to recognise domestic abuse and should be a great ally. It’s important to let your GP know as well. It’s a very difficult and confusing time. There are lots of agencies who will support you. Please reach out in real life and keep posting here.
